Description:

A wonderful Chico favorite’s concert to close out the 2011 Big Room music series. (Not counting our NYE extravaganza of course!) Bring your friends and family and help celebrate with a night of dancing and reveling with two of Chico’s favorite bands. Big Mo & the Full Moon Band is probably the most awarded band ever in the Chico vicinity. Powerful vocals, heartfelt blues, Southern soul (German style) and plain old good time rock & roll. You know him, you love him, now see him in the hometown comfort that is The Big Room. Also on the bill is The Volker Strifler Band (VSB), a popular Northern California based tour-de-force of musical talent that has become a rising musical phenomenon garnering local, regional and national recognition. VSB is fronted by their namesake and founder, Volker Strifler, whose remarkable talents as singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist extraordinaire are helping propel both him and the entire band toward world-wide recognition. It's not hard to understand why VSB is making such a splash. This band moves languorously from jazz and roots, to blues/rock and a funky calypso rhythm; with performances highlighted by their show stopping guitarist, a thundering rhythm section, white hot horns, and one funky, soulful keyboardist! This event will be a gathering of friends getting together for the sole purpose having a beer or two and letting it lose on the dance floor. I mean, what can I say….you know you’re from Chico if you like to dance while drinking a smooth Sierra Nevada malted beverage. See you there. This is an all-ages event. Doors open at 6 PM and the music starts at 7:30 PM. An optional full buffet dinner will be served from 6 PM till 7:30 at a cost of $12.50. We recommend you claim your seats prior to purchasing dinner. Seating is general admission. The line for admittance generally starts around 5:30 PM. All ticket sales are final. No refunds please.
