Matt Andersen grips listeners with his diverse musical styles, skilled guitar work, and over-the-top showmanship. His intimate, high-energy performances captivate audiences worldwide from Canada and the US to Australia and the UK and from small clubs to festivals. Matt was the breakout hit of the 2012 WorldFest Music Festival in Grass Valley and he’ll return as a headliner this July.
“I’m not trying to change anyone’s lives in a big way, but I love it when [listeners] really get involved in the music,” said Matt who won three 2012 Maple Blues Awards and received a British Blues Award nomination.
David Jacobs-Strain will open the show with his fierce slide guitar and poetic songwriting. He’s known for both his virtuosity and spirit of emotional abandon; his live show moves from humorous, subversive blues to delicate balladry and then swings back to swampy rock and roll. Among David’s festival portfolio are Merlefest, Telluride Blues Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, Hardly Strictly, Bumbershoot, and a trek to Switzerland for Blues to Bop. He’ll be joined in the Big Room by talented harmonica player Bob Beach.
Please join us for an evening of acoustic blues with Matt and David, two of the most respected players in the genre.
