THIS SHOW IS SOLD OUT!
The Wood Brothers, steeped in Americana and blues, feature real brothers Chris (Upright Bass) and Oliver Wood (Acoustic and electric guitars), as well as multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix. Chris Wood was a founding member of the nationally known Medeski, Martin & Wood and Oliver toured for years as Tinsley Ellis’s lead guitarist. With the addition of Jano Rix, the Wood Brothers have evolved from a stripped-down, roots & rock inspired duo to a rollicking trio capable of holding their own in 10,000-seat arenas opening for the Zac Brown Band, captivating theaters filled with a thousand fans or holding sway over 200 patrons in a small rock club. A Wood Brothers concert is not unlike an old-school revival; there’s a whole lot of sweatin’, shoutin’ stompin’ and singin’ going on. You can expect a fusion of folk, blues, jazz and classic R & B when the Brothers come to the Big Room.
Opening the show will be Mandolin Orange. Using acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin and fiddle, Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz capture a crowd with their heart-worn sensibility.
