“The Kruger Brothers are just about as fine a band as I have ever played with,” said the late Doc Watson. The Kruger Brothers’ music is deeply rooted in bluegrass tradition, but has grown to include original songs and compositions. Brothers Jens and Uwe Kruger left their home in Switzerland to pursue life as street musicians and met their “other brother,” Joel Landsberg, in New York City. “Coming to this country as an immigrant and to be accepted so warmly is amazing and quite humbling,” said Jens, who won last year’s Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass Music. For impeccable musicianship, an invigorating exploration of American traditional forms, and unbeatable bluegrass, check out The Kruger Brothers. See the band in action and discover why Jens Kruger is considered one of the world’s best banjo players here. (link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QN4JFl2r5Tc)
