Chico favorite Rita Hosking returns to the Big Room to headline an evening of beautiful acoustic music. For fans of Emmylou and Gillian, this one's a safe bet. The songs of Rita Hosking are as fragile as a newborn baby, and defiant as a West Virginia coal miner." --Stuart Mason, Fiddlefreak Folk Review. Come Sunrise, Rita's 2009 record, won Best Country Album Vox Pop in the 2010
Independent Music Awards. Burn, from 2011, was placed in the top 10 "Young Female Artist
releases for 2011" by No Depression magazine, and listed as a "Hidden Gem of 2011" by the
UK's Observer. Come see why Rita is fast becoming a worldwide Americana sensation.
Opening the show will be the up and coming T Sisters. California born and raised, and now based in Oakland, the Tietjens have been singing together their whole lives. Erika, Rachel and Chloe accompany themselves on guitar, banjo and percussion and they're joined by upright bassist Steve Height and Andy Fahlander on mandolin. When performing, they call to mind classic girl groups: from The Andrews Sisters and The Ronettes to The Roches and the Dixie Chicks. Please joins us for an evening of stirring acoustic music as only the Big Room can present.
